My name is Maha Alio. I was born in Latakia, Syria but have recently made Canada home. My background combines my study of Sociology with entrepreneurship and is embodied and the work of Seeba. My journey began after leaving Syria, when I began my career in Turkey working with international NGOs and discovered my passion for assisting refugees. Since arriving in Canada two years ago, I continuously pursued my dream of helping vulnerable members of society. Presently, I work with refugees as a settlement worker. My vast experience working with refugees has only solidified my belief that when given the opportunity, newcomers can make a powerful contribution to the social and
economic fabric of this country. I also believe that by empowering women, our society can achieve its full potential. This is the vision upon which Seeba was founded. Seeba is more than just an entrepreneurial venture to me; it is a mission to improve the lives of others while also demonstrating the power of second chances.
My name is Omran Faour. I’m an artist, animator, and an entrepreneur. I graduated from Damascus University with an English Literature degree, but quickly discovered that developing my visual artistic skills through graphic design was my true passion. Since moving to Canada two years ago, I was lucky enough to land my dream job which allowed me to pursue my calling. Landing my dream job has given me time to focus on my entrepreneurial interests and join the Seeba team on their exciting journey. I am proud to work with a team that shares my values of inclusivity, empowerment, and understanding.
